Marine Control System

For modern propulsion and vessel operations

Managing a vessel should be simple, predictable, and safe. Even when the work isn’t.
This marine control system (MPC800) is designed to offer seamless integration of propulsion and automation control. It features a graphical display, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) which provides clear information to the crew. The powerful system allows for advanced functions such as Dynamic Drive enabling optimal performance and efficiency as well as precise control.

The optional Marine Information Display is designed to provide further operation and systems overview. One interesting application is the Mode Selector that simplifies the shift between propulsion modes for e.g. hybrid vessels. With clear indication of load on engines, gensets, thrusters and propellers as well as current fuel burn it provides the crew with detailed insights to the current operation and allows simple switch from fuel mechanic mode to electric mode or booster mode.

Key Features of the Marine Propulsion Control System

Integrated control of propulsion, electrical integration, and main engines.

Hybrid-ready control options for propulsion and electrical systems.

Customizable bridge HMI layouts for best user experience.

Redundant system architecture with dual processors for enhanced reliability.

Modular layout designed to fit various bridge configurations.

Integration and Compatibility with Marine Propulsion Technologies

This propulsion control system is used for all Berg Propulsion products in a large variety of vessel segments. It comes with a number of different options to best support single screw, twin screw, hybrid installations as well as for controllable or fixed pitch propellers, azimuth thrusters and tunnel thrusters. It is also prepared for integration with systems such as joystick, auto-pilot, dynamic positioning (DP), voyage data recorder (VDR) and conning systems. With built in condition monitoring and closed-loop optimization features it ensures reliable and efficient operation.

The solution has been recognized within the industry for its engineering excellence and contribution to sustainable vessel design. Recent awards highlight not only technical innovation but also Berg Propulsion’s leadership in delivering reliable, future-proof propulsion systems that support the transition toward electrified and hybrid fleets.
